Mike Sands
Mike Sands is an independent recording artist with seven albums of original music to his name. His latest release, Happy Hour, marks his debut with Cleveland-based Jib Machine Records. Featuring twelve new songs, the album is Mike's most fully realized and emotionally dynamic work to date. Produced by acclaimed Nashville producer Lincoln Parish—best known for his work with Cage the Elephant—Happy Hour showcases both his songwriting depth and musical versatility.
Mike describes his sound as what happens when a New York alternative rock upbringing collides with the soul and grit of the American South. It's the result of wanting to rock like Sammy Hagar while writing with the honesty and storytelling of Jason Isbell—and never feeling the need to choose between the two.
Throughout his career, Mike has earned multiple nominations from the International Singer Songwriter Association (ISSA) and the Josie Music Awards, recognizing his work as a songwriter, recording artist, and video creator. In 2023, his song "Heather's Birds" received an award for Outstanding Songwriting.
